New Prescription for Healthcare
Pune, August 1, 2005 - FollowUpMD, a new Patient oriented offering of a Pune based enterprise, SmartSourcer Consultants Pvt. Ltd., promises to revolutionize the healthcare industry as we know it today.
"HealthCare has become more about HeathCarelessness" claimed Mr. Jayant Pai, the MD of the company, "and drawing from personal experience we have decided to make HealthCare a more compassionate, interactive and people friendly experience."
Process, People and Technology should be in the right blend to optimize healthcare as this will lead to tangible benefits like lower costs and intangible benefits like better and earlier disease diagnosis, rapport between doctor and patient, a more well informed and efficient doctor and a more satisfied patient.
In a win-win situation for all concerned, the FollowUpMD model basically aims at keeping track of patients who more often then not are forgotten once they are issued a discharge card, till the neglect results in another crisis. This necessitates expensive emergency care and the healthcare providers also have to grope in the dark due to lack of follow up information.
The FollowUpMD system will call patients who are at the care of any healthcare program and collect data about their drug use, side effects, after effects of hospitalization, any peripheral help they may need like availability and home delivery of medications and even help schedule appointments with doctors of their need and choice.
"The whole idea of the program was sparked of by my father's heart attack and the helplessness I experienced dealing with post-hospitalization issues in uncharted waters like Cardiac Care and its results" says Mr. Pai. FollowUpMD is a way to bring all those involved in healthcare to a common platform so it benefits all parties. After all in healthcare, timely and accurate knowledge is power. Back to Top |
